Have you sprained your ankle badly before?

Today, I’d like to talk about my ankle Yes, my magnificently swollen right ankle that was sprained during my trip to Korea.

Looking up at the second story restaurant out of the excitement for Mara-tang, a spicy addictive Chinese dish which my friend and I were about to gobble up, I didn’t see the small curve ahead under my feet. What followed was acute pain… For a split second, I thought the whole world was spinning. My friend grabbed hold of me before I fell down embarrassingly. Afterward, it felt fine and could walk like nothing happened. We went into the restaurant and enjoyed the Chinese dish in Korea.

I was functioning normally for the following weeks although my ankle swelled a bit. I continued working and going to different fertility clinics in different locations and requested to see laboratories, met specialists and executives. I exercised in the morning as usual and planned an upcoming event on 30th, of course I did Tinder and met a cute guy on a date. Surprise!

It was on the flight back to Singapore when I noticed my ankle even more swollen than usual. There was no severe pain but it gave me some concern. Seeing as I am usually confident with my healthy body, I didn’t bother doing anything about it believing that time would magically heal it.

Three days later, the swelling didn’t subside and it looked even bigger and uglier than before. I then realized that this could be serious after 3 weeks and could get even worse. Scary thoughts overwhelmed me, so I started researching on the internet. Without difficulty I found possible scenarios of the different types of sprain and different kinds of pains that tell you how to alleviate the symptoms and when to go see a doctor and etc.

The next morning, after elevating it for the night, my ankle looked magically normal. I was so relieved and amused that the problem was gone after simply applying a trivial method. I re-gained confidence to getting back to a normal healthy, energetic me without bigger worries.

What is the point I’m trying to make? Knowledge. It allows you to examine your situation and circumstance, and guides you to search for optimal solutions. Seek out information even before a problem arises.

Thinking about the unfamiliar gives us headaches and drains us. Making a decision for ourselves takes energy and is tiring. We choose to ignore it and hence the status quo wins.

But we can ALSO choose to seek with consciousness.

An empowering experience that can go a long way to impacting your life could come in at 11am on 30th of November. Today is a good day to sign up for it. http://bit.ly/getrealwh
